Experience Location
Koenji is one of the hippest neighborhoods in Tokyo, known for its cool retro vibe. Once home to the city’s resident punk scene in the 1970s, Koenji has matured a little since then, with a creative underground aesthetic that bubbles gently with its hip youth culture. With a laid-back atmosphere, it’s the place to go for vintage shopping and local izakayas, and it’s also home to a thriving local live music scene, and numerous record stores to match. With art hotels and trendy cafes, Koenji offers an easy-going, left-of-field experience for an alternative side to Tokyo.
