Experience Details
Okonomiyaki, sometimes called “Japanese pizza,” is a savory pancake which is drizzled with a tangy and sweet sauce and topped with katsuobushi fish flakes. In this Wagyu Beef and Okonomiyaki Making Class, you’ll make Osaka style okonomiyaki, which consists of a flour-based batter with cabbage, green onions, and a variety of mix-ins such as meat or seafood. This class will teach you how to make a lighter, healthier version of okonomiyaki, adding lots of green onions for a fresh flavor! You’ll also cook three simple but classic side dishes, make miso soup from scratch, and grill up succulent slices of Japanese wagyu beef. To go with your meal, you can also choose to enjoy a glass of raw sake or plum wine. Those under the legal drinking age of 20 years old can enjoy a sweet koji pudding with brown rice syrup and green tea.

Meeting Point and Meeting Time
The meeting location is at Chitose Funabashi Station (Odakyu Line). The host will meet you by the red postal box outside of the ticket gate and will walk you to the cooking class location (an 8-minute walk from the station).
Remarks
The cooking instructor has a 12-year-old chihuahua named “Colin” at her house to welcome you! He will stay in another room during the cooking class, but he is very friendly and sweet.
Experience Location
Sitting in the center of the Setagaya area ward, Chitose-Funabashi is a residential area to the west of the city. It is only 20 minutes from Shinjuku, which passes through the ever-hip Shimokitazawa along the way. You’ll find rows of apartments in this quiet neighborhood, not far from the Setagaya Art Museum and Gotokuji Temple, which plays homage to the lucky “beckoning cat” with its a sea of red and white waving maneki neko dolls. Family and friends spend time along the open banks of the peaceful Tama River, dividing Tokyo and Kanagawa with its gentle flowing waters bit further south.
